How do I calculate materials for a fence?▾
Enter your total fence length, desired height, and fence type. This calculator estimates the number of posts, rails, pickets or panels, concrete bags, and hardware needed for the project.
How far apart should fence posts be?▾
Standard spacing is 6-8 feet between posts for most fence types. This calculator uses 8 feet by default for wood and vinyl fences, and 10 feet for chain link, but you can customize the spacing.
How much concrete do I need per fence post?▾
Most fence posts need 1-2 bags (50 lb) of concrete per post hole, depending on post size and soil conditions. This calculator estimates concrete needs based on your post count and hole dimensions.
